The Bay Island 22 utilizes a hand-laminated fiberglass displacement hull with a matching fiberglass deck. Its 9'3" beam is particularly substantial for a 22' boat and contributes to both stability and usable interior space. Molded plank detailing gives the hull the traditional appearance associated with Duffy's electric boat heritage. 

Unlike a conventional outboard or sterndrive day boat, the Bay Island was designed specifically around electric propulsion. Duffy's Power Rudder™ combines the propulsion and steering arrangement into a compact system intended to provide maneuverability at harbor speeds while preserving interior space.
